UNTITLED (FUETE)

bronze, artificial hair, variable dimensions, 2024

The work consists of a whip with a bronze handle covered in thorns and a cord made of braided hair. It combines opposing elements: the intimate, caring gesture of braiding hair with the form of an instrument of punishment.

It alludes to motherhood as an ambivalent experience—care and violence, unconditional love and pain. It is a symbolic weapon, impossible to wield without also wounding the one who holds it.
